Shaftsbury's Water Board consists of the 5 member Selectboard. They establish the water rates, rules and regulations for the control and operation of the Water Department.
The Water Department Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent are hired by the Water Board. Their responsibilities include maintenance of the Twitchell Hill
pumping station, water lines, fire hydrants and the installation and reading of water meters. They are also responsible for testing the drinking water on a monthly basis.
Finally, they are Shaftsbury's point of liaison with the North Bennington Water Department.
